ICE Theaters Film Pavilion

This pavilion offers daily screenings of short and full-length films produced mostly by African and African American filmmakers. Visitors will also be able to preview movie trailers for upcoming major motion pictures, enjoy free popcorn, take home free movie posters, and learn more about Black World Cinema, an independent film series at ICE Theaters locations.

Chicago filmmaker Mark Harris presents a story of a teenage girl with a dream to make the Women’s U.S. Swim Team.  She excitedly begins training when… tragedy strikes.

Cora Coleman-Dunham – Special Guest!!!

Renowned drummer makes appearance at Film pavilion and is featured in two documentaries.

Chronicles of Queen Cora (2011, 18min, NR) is a unique look into the world of the signature vater drumstick artist performing with Beyonce and Prince.  Learn what inspires her, drives her, and made her one of genre’s elite four in Kick, Snare, Hat: The Superstar Drummers of Hip Hop and R&B (2008, 117 min, NR).

Family Motel (2007) 88 min, NR 

A Somalian refugee, Ayan, attempting to build a new life in Canada is forced into the streets along with her two daughters Nasrah and Leila.   They retreat to a local hotel room and during the hours that the mother is away, a handsome neighbor Rudy offers the naïve Nasrah friendship and understanding. But Rudy is far from the friendly stranger.
