Donate gently used shoes during the 2011 African Festival of the Arts.
Share Your Soles charity will be collecting shoes to donate to Nigeria and the Congo areas of Africa. Bring your gently used shoes to the Festival and help the deserving people of the Motherland continent.
Share Your Soles is a not for profit organization that collects gently worn and new shoes to distribute to those living in locations around the world in need of them. Three years ago we saw the need for handicapped equipment in the way of walkers, wheel chairs, crutches and canes so we have added these to our mission of serving the needy. Two years ago the organization began and has hand delivered over 1.25 million pairs of shoes to over 40 locations globally. Some of these locations include, Ghana, Haiti, Kenya, Brazil, Peru, Jamaica, Honduras, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Cameroon and Ecuador. In many of these countries children are not allowed to attend school if they don’t have shoes to wear. IL. Secretary of State Jesse White has not only been involved since the beginning of Share Your Soles, he is also an active Board member along with Elsa Bandi and Dr. Tariq Butt. We are very proud to be at the site of this amazing 2011 Festival and hope that you will go through your closets and spread the word to friends and family that a simple thing such as a pair of shoes can touch a life of someone far away in a profound way!
